I am currently trying to obtain a mortgage to buy a house in Bangkok. I'm finding it difficult to get a mortgage, I think because the banks/lenders don't trust me because I'm a non-Thai 'foreigner'. Even though my credit rating is good they would prefer to lend to a Thai who has a much higher credit risk. Mortgage lenders have themselves to blame!! I know exactly how you feel.
